Frog Hop

Held in the early spring, when local frogs are most active, the Frog Hop gives participants the opportunity to walk the trails and wetlands of Cedar Bay while listening for and identifying the different frog species found in the Sioux Lookout area. Common species include the Spring Peeper, Boreal Chorus Frog, and Wood Frog, each with their own distinct calls and behaviour.

Guided by knowledgeable volunteers, the event encourages participants to slow down, listen closely, and connect with the sounds of nature. It’s a hands-on way to learn about local ecosystems, seasonal changes, and the importance of wetland habitats.
