Cedar Bay Video

Courtesy of Shaw TV Dryden

This short documentary-style video, narrated by Tommy Johnson for Go On Shaw TV, introduces viewers to Cedar Bay Recreation Complex, located just north of Sioux Lookout, Ontario.

The video highlights the natural beauty and tranquility of the area — from walking and ski trails to lakes, forests, and fresh air. Originally developed in the 1970s as a wilderness camp, Cedar Bay experienced a period of decline due to municipal budget constraints. However, in 2000, a local group of citizens formed the "Friends of Cedar Bay" to revitalize and maintain the area.

Today, Cedar Bay offers year-round outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, geocaching, horseback riding, snowshoeing, and skiing. It's described as a public resource that’s accessible and free for most users — providing outdoor recreation opportunities to families and individuals who may not have private access to nature.
