The lakeshore committee hosts seasonal community events that promote healthy active living, outdoor recreation, ecological education and species monitoring.   We also carry out fundraising events for improved access and cabin restoration projects.

The lakeshore committee exists with three major purposes: 

1)   To provide vision for renovation projects and revitalization of the existing infrastructure at the lakeshore facility with the goal of improved public access and safety for all user groups.

2)  To act as land stewards of the Cedar Bay Recreation Complex and surrounding area, working towards the protection of the ecological integrity of this space and to maintain it as close to its natural state as possible.   Our long term goal is to have the land surrounding Cedar Bay designated as a protected / conservation area. 

3) To enhance existing programming offered by the Community Services Department by planning and facilitating seasonal community festivals and events and offering specialized courses, workshops, and training sessions.
